What affects the price
Rental length is the main factor. Each longer duration lowers the effective hourly rate: 2 hours saves you $28 versus two separate 1-hour rentals, a half day saves you $41 versus two 2-hour rentals, and a full day saves you $73 versus two half-day rentals.
Also budget for state park vehicle entry fees at the access areas, which are set and collected by NC State Parks rather than by us.
